Thin-client Architecture

A way of computing where the application runs on a main server and the client computer or device is essentially a terminal, for example, the way conventional web pages work. Thin-client architecture requires little network bandwidth and makes possible the support of remote users from a central server. The trend is towards zero-footprint, web-based user interfaces that can run on any networked device with a web browser. As opposed to fat-client architecture.
